ALMS Courses – Different Courses Offered

ALMS stands for Army Learning and Management System, which is a learning system with different types of ALMS courses. It is an online program developed to train soldiers, allow collaboration of trainers to schedule and perform training, and organize information on training. The system consists of Mission Essential Task List (METL), planning and execution of the training, assessment and feedback components.

Army Learning Management System is a component offered by the United States through its Army Knowledge Online (AKO) program. AKO forms a helpful aid for soldiers who want to test and prove their army skill. Through the various courses offered as part of the ALMS program through AKO, interested students are provided with an opportunity to learn and collaborate with other students through the online program. ALMS is designed to assist training managers, trainers, unit commanders and instructors to conduct, schedule, register and deliver standardized army training. The training is available for soldiers and DA civilians.

Interested students, who want to take up any of the ALMS courses, need to register for the desired course on the ALMS website. They need to login on the website using their AKO credentials and register for a course using the Training Catalog provided on the website.

ALMS is an automated storage and delivery courseware for training content. It is a self-paced program. Soldiers and DA civilians, who enroll for the training, can utilize the 24×7 help desk support offered as part of the course. The courses offered through ALMS are based on real-time training sessions, which consist of Collaborative Army Training (CAT) and Centra. Students can acquire knowledge through the virtual classrooms on this online training system.

Throughout the course, the students of ALMS are assisted through an online self-help technical support officer so that they can complete their training without any difficulty from anywhere. Training managers can obtain the necessary support on hosting the training materials through the Customer Support Center (CSC).

ALMS courses have been designed to improve the training flexibility and readiness among the soldiers and DA civilians through online training. Throughout the army career of the soldier, ALMS help in managing as well as tracking the training record of the soldier. Task based strategies are included as a part of the training courses. The training provided to the soldiers in the form of ALMS helps in providing greater stability to the soldiers and their families.
